When turbo exhaust backpressure increases, the stock actuator prematurely blows off the seat, softening boost in the midrange and killing torque. M.T. of Wylie, Texas installed a Banks BigHead wastegate actuator on his Duramax truck
I installed Banks BigHead wastegate actuator about three weeks ago and, Mama, this Duramax came alive! I just made a pull with my bay boat from my home to Galveston, Texas and back—750 miles. I set the cruise control on 77 mph and pulled the entire distance in overdrive without a downshift. The actuator smoothed out the turbo boost. It’s seamless, extremely powerful.

I can definitely tell a difference
I just got my Trans command, power elbow & downpipe, and big head wastegate actuator installed last night and I can definitely tell a difference. The transmission has nice firm shifts and the truck seems to be more responsive. The instructions were also very easy to follow.
I can definitely hear the turbo spooling up, which sounds really cool.
I can’t wait to get the Big Hoss module installed; I’ll let you know how that goes.
