  • Buyer/Planner

    Gale Banks Engineering is an established, market-leading manufacturer of automotive aftermarket performance products for trucks, motor homes and SUVs. We are currently seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner with a strong background in researching and recommending new suppliers and a proven ability to negotiate with vendors.

    Successful candidate will verify that commodities are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and that the products meet the standards of the company. Will develop alternate sources in the event of inadequacy of the regular supplier. Skilled in purchase order creation, vendor follow up and assuring that all vendors are following proper procedures.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Experience in inventory management
    • MRP and ERP reporting
    • Evaluating and maintaining accurate and detailed vendor lead times
    • Experience in maintaining relationships with both engineering departments and outside vendors
    • 1st article reports
    • Expert knowledge of resolving order discrepancies, defective materials, vendor returns and experience in approval, modifications and payment denials
    • Strong background in negotiations with vendors related to: price increases, contract negotiations and fair market pricing
    • Supplier reliability evaluations and reports
    • Requisitions reviews, MRP exceptions reports, procurement methods (direct purchase or bid) and preparing purchase orders and purchase order approval
    • Awarding bids to the selected vendor(s) and notify non-selected vendors

    Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and minimum three years purchasing and material planning experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Computer/Equipment Skills: Must be able to operate a PC and all office equipment. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet navigation, and have good working knowledge of MRP. Macola ERP software experience preferred.

    Certificates and Licenses: APICS certification preferred but not required, Six Sigma Knowledge a plus.

  • CAD Design Engineer

    We are currently seeking a full time CAD Design Engineer/Mechanical Engineer to create drawings and solid models, and design mechanical and electromechanical components for automotive performance products and systems.

    Successful candidate will have BSME degree and 2-3 years experience drafting, designing and developing mechanical components and systems, writing bills of material, completing engineering documents and developing technical product manuals. Experience with foundry processes desired. Must be proficient with MS Office, Excel spreadsheets, Internet Explorer and Solid Works or Pro E.  Automotive background or experience is preferred.

  • Production Packager
    Pull and place automotive components into shipping cartons ensuring that each component is the correct part for the kit, the correct quantity for the kit, and are in undamaged condition. Will assemble packaging containers and apply labels using glue, stapling equipment, or heat sealers. Prefer 1-2 years experience in warehouse or distribution environment working from bills of material and work orders, and ability to operate a forklift. Must have good math skills and attention to detail. This is a full time, day shift position.
  • Purchasing Manager

    We are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to direct all activities and staff in the purchasing department, and effectively manage vendor relations, pricing, negotiation, and inventory.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Negotiate with vendors for the purchase of raw materials, electronic and mechanical components, warehouse materials and supplies, both domestic and overseas. Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepare market analysis reports.
    • Develop and manage vendor relationships, perform ongoing evaluation of supplier reliability, and develop alternate sources. Implement operating procedures concerning processing of purchase requisition/orders, control of price, quality and delivery requirements. Establish and maintain procurement policies which ensure timely delivery of goods, equipment, materials, and supplies.
    • Provide input and work closely with Materials/Production Planning. Review and analyze MRP reports and data. Implement supply chain process improvement and inventory reduction programs.
    • Interface with the sales/marketing department with issues such as forecasting new business, slow moving product, obsolete inventory, and changes in customer buying patterns.
    • Act as liaison between engineering and outside vendors, informing vendor of design changes, obtain new pricing, and arrange for first article delivery and first production run delivery.
    • Assign procurement requests, engineering releases, change and stop orders to the appropriate personnel. Prepare, issue and approve purchase orders and change notices; review purchase order requests and contracts for accuracy and conformance to company policy.
    • Prepare employee work schedules, delegate and oversee work assignments; evaluate work for accuracy, timeliness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
    • Forecast departmental operating costs and be responsible for the preparation and direction of the department budget.

    Education/Experience: BA or equivalent degree from four-year college or technical school preferred; and minimum 5 years inventory, purchasing and material planning experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and understand blueprints and Bills of Material. Excellent leadership, communication (verbal and written), organizational, and problem solving skills. Skill at negotiating purchasing agreements and contracts, and strong record of initiating cost savings.

    Computer/Equipment Skills: Must be able to operate a PC and all office equipment, be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet navigation, windows based software programs (Macola preferred), MRP software, and Crystal Reports.

    Certificates and Licenses: CPM or APICS certification preferred but not required, Six Sigma Knowledge a plus

  • Receptionist/Switchboard Operator

    Experienced, professional receptionist will direct incoming calls, greet customers and coordinate with various departments in this very busy front office. Utilizing state-of-the-art call management system, multi-line switchboard, and business office tools, will perform first-level call resolution and route an average of 1,800 calls per day received by our 3-person reception group. As the first point of contact to visitors and callers, our reception staff represents GBE in a manner that reflects our image of excellence and integrity. Will also support customer service and sales departments with some light administrative support, data entry, and research assignments.

    Successful candidate will have 2-4 years switchboard experience, excellent telephone and customer service skills, and proven ability to be flexible and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience with MS Word, Excel and Outlook required.
